Angelina Jolie as Cleopatra

Angelina Jolie is next in line to play the iconic Egyptian goddess Cleopatra. In the 3D adaption of the ancient history story, Angelina will take to the throne as the stunning ruler, if James Cameron can help it.

"There's a Cleopatra project in the works, meaning that it's been in development at Sony. And it's a subject that's always fascinated me,” said James who is set to start production on the film.

"It sounds hot, doesn't it? I mean, Angelina Jolie and Cleopatra? To me, that's like a slam dunk. Whether I wind up doing it or not, I think it's going to be a great project."

Angelina replied that she “would be honoured” to play the role.

Angelina Jolie Asks Critics To 'Hold Judgment' After Bosnian Ban

Angelina Jolie said a revoked permit to direct her first movie in Bosnia was the result of "unfair pressure based on wrong information" after reports surfaced that the film tells the story of a Bosniak woman falling in love with her Serbian rapist, instigating an outcry from a prominent women's group against its production in the country.

"The choice to make a film about this area and set in this time in history was also to remind people of what happened not so long ago and to give attention to the survivors of the war," the A-lister said in a statement.

Association of Women, Victims of War head Bakira Hasecic told the AP she's heard the film "is about a victim in a rape camp falling in love with her rapist, and that's not only impossible but the idea is insulting. We, the victims, do not want to be portrayed that way and we complained."

In response, Jolie said she'd "like the opportunity to speak with them to personally clear up any misunderstandings about this project.

"There are many twists in the plot that address the sensitive nature of the relationship between the main characters, and that will be revealed once the film is released," Jolie said of her yet-to-be-titled film, which was previously described as a love story that takes place during the Bosnian-Serbian war. "My hope is that people will hold judgment until they have seen the film."

An actress slated to appear in the film, Sarajevan Fedja Stukan, denied the movie has such a storyline.

"We are not making a movie about a crazy woman falling in love with her rapist," she said. "We are not sick and perverted."

Angelina Jolie said Friday she would like to meet with wartime rape victims and clarify misunderstandings that have led authorities in Sarajevo to deny her a permit to shoot her directorial film debut in Bosnia.

"My hope is that people will hold judgment until they have seen the film," the Hollywood actress said in a statement Friday.

Bosnian authorities have denied Jolie a permit to shoot her film amid protests by rape victims who object to its alleged subject matter.

The film -- a wartime love story between a Bosnian woman and a Serbian man -- was supposed to be shot partly in Bosnia in November. Jolie's producer says rumors spread, however, that the film was about a rape victim who falls in love with her rapist.

Jolie's Sarajevo producer, Edin Sarkic, said Friday the rumors were not true. He said he has resubmitted the application and sent the film's full script to Sarajevo's culture minister and expects to get a permit.

Culture Minister Gavrilo Grahovac revoked the original permit this week under pressure from the Association of Women, Victims of War that represents the several thousand mainly Muslim Bosniak women who were raped during Bosnia's 1992 to '95 war.

The head of the association, Bakira Hasecic, said she has not read the script but "from what I heard, it is about a victim in a rape camp falling in love with her rapist, and that's not only impossible but the idea is insulting."

"We, the victims, do not want to be portrayed that way and we complained," she said.

In the immediate aftermath of the war, the issue of mass rape of women during the conflict was a taboo topic in Bosnia. But the victims then came forward and formed an association that fights for their rights in the courts and defends their dignity in public. The lobby has grown so strong that rarely any official in Bosnia dares to confront it.

Edin Sarkic -- who runs Scout Film, the Sarajevo-based production company that cooperates with Jolie on the project -- said he was not going to reveal what was in Jolie's script. But Sarkic said he has given it to Grahovac and believes he will get the permit back in a few days after Grahovac realizes the story line

BRAD Pitt and Angelina Jolie are fighting again!

Sources say the Hollywood couple — who raise six children together — have come to blows over the actor’s love of artichokes!

According to American tabloid the National Enquirer, Pitt has been marinating the veggies in vodka for an evening cocktail.

“Brad has always had a passion for homemade cocktails, and he takes a lot of pride in coming up with new and unique recipes,” a source said.

“Brad gets some nasty gas from consuming so many artichokes, and it’s driving poor Angelina crazy.

“It’s gotten so bad that Angie sometimes sleeps in a separate bedroom!”

ANGELINA Jolie encourages her baby twins to speak French.

Sources say the actress — who raises six kids with partner Brad Pitt — is keen for Knox and Vivienne, 2, to be bilingual.

“They speak more French than English,” Angie recently said. “We have a French teacher who’s always with them.”

According to a magazine report, the teaches are actually French nannies.

“Because the nannies do so much day-to-day care, the twins naturally speak in French,” a source told Life & Style.

“But Angie encourages it. She’s always been obsessed with the idea that educated people speak French as a second language.”

Recent reports claimed Jolie has been offered $20m to write her memoirs.

“Angie will use the book as a platform to promote the joys of raising adoptive kids, and she’ll reveal details about her future family plans with Brad,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer.

“For the first time Angie will explain how Brad and parenthood were her salvation.”

Angelina — who recently traveled to Pakistan to help raise money after the devastating floods there — will also discuss her work as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador.

“She will show the public how she can sit down on equal terms with the most powerful men and women in the world,” the source explained.

“Angie will rewrite her personal history. There will be intimate details about her. She will show how everything led to her becoming the responsible person she is today — mother, activist and humanitarian.”
